When Duracell looked to Team Epic to help create and develop its next ‘Trust Your Power’ initiative, as the brand’s strategic and lifestyle marketing partner leading sponsorship value and activation for the NFL our team delivered a game plan for bringing the story of Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman to life.

Though mostly unknown outside Seattle, Derrick had a remarkable story that only Duracell could tell; Doctors pronounced him deaf at age 3. Instead of giving up his dream to play football, Derrick trusted the power within, learned to read lips and used Duracell hearing aid batteries to beat the odds. He played college football at UCLA, and even after multiple NFL teams cut him, Derrick made the Seahawks roster in 2013 and helped the team win Super Bowl XLVIII.

In partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi NY, Team Epic helped co-produce this video which has become a sensation nationwide, earning over 22 million YouTube views as well as multiple media placements on NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN among many others.
